SaLtedPeat
SaLtedPeat is an ERC-funded project investigating the impacts of salinisation on Southeast Asian coastal peatlands through analysis of peatland historical response to SLR, salt-addition experiments, and modelling of peatland properties and carbon stocks changes. Overall, the project will assess the ecosystem responses to elevated salinity levels and estimate associated carbon losses, providing essential knowledge for carbon management, biodiversity conservation, and air-pollution mitigation.
This project will run until January 2031.
TealBlue
TealBlue is a DFG-funded project investigating the interconnectivity between Southeast Asian mangroves and the adjacent landward ecosystems. The project will asses cross-ecosystems material flow between mangrove and peatland, the typically bordering ecosystems in Southeast Asia. Information generated by this project will be useful for the development of integrated and well-tailored management of wetland complexes in Southeast Asia.
This project will run until November 2029.
