General Information

As part of their exam preparation for their studies, sports students can book free hall times from 8 am to 4 pm at the ZESG. Free times can be viewed via the online occupancy plan on the ZESG homepage and requested by email to Emil Balk at least 72 hours in advance. As a prerequisite, sports students must name their respective examination module as well as the responsible lecturer(s) in the request. Material Usage and Issuance If materials are required that are not freely accessible in the hall, these must be requested in the email. The students can pick up the material at the Service Point at the respective appointment time. A student ID is required as a deposit for the rental.
Information regarding the upcoming O-Week can be found here.
The optional practice times are additional practice sessions offered during the semester. They complement training in the various sports by supporting the improvement of students' skills and abilities. Through the guidance of qualified instructors, not only effective learning is promoted, but also the risk of injury during independent practice is minimized.

The optional practice times are also open to students who do not participate in the practical seminar. They can serve as preparation for a seminar or be used to expand competencies in other sports.

For all questions and suggestions regarding the optional practice times, Elias Grosse is happy to assist. A current overview of the optional practice times with times, locations, and instructors can be found here.

Basically, we recommend using the optional practice times for preparation. Furthermore, usage is possible in the following way:

  • A module as well as a lecturer must always be assigned to the usage.

  • Short-term requests must be made personally at the Service Point by 3:30 pm on the previous day at the latest.

For students, there is the possibility to borrow and use study-relevant material (for warming up within the scope of a practical course, for teaching demonstrations, or also for individual practice as exam preparation) at the Infopoint/Servicepoint. Private use of the material is excluded. Issuance takes place until 3:30 pm at the Infopoint, afterwards at the Servicepoint; self-service is not permitted.

Practical training is a central component of the sports science 2-subject bachelor's program in the different profiles as well as in the second subject Sports in the Business Education program, whereby practical training focuses on the close link between theory and practice in university education. The focus of this training area is on testing, acquiring, conveying, and analyzing sports and movement-related abilities and skills in the most diverse fields and forms of movement and the (didactic) preparation of the subject area sports and movement with regard to different prerequisites, conditions, and goals.
