MSc. Oriz Putra

Oriz completed a Master’s degree in Tropical International Forestry at the University of Göttingen. His master’s thesis focused on monitoring ash dieback using aerial imagery and remote sensing approaches. He has a strong interest in peatland research and ecosystem monitoring.

He has several years of hands-on experience working on peatland monitoring and analysis, particularly in Indonesia. At the World Resources Institute, he supported independent peatland monitoring and peatland restoration projects and contributed to peat-related research and monitoring outputs. He also worked as a Data Analyst at Pantau Gambut (Peat Watch), where he carried out spatial analysis and mapping for peatland monitoring related to forest fires. His work involved GIS-based analysis, satellite data interpretation, and applied research supporting peatland conservation, restoration, and climate-relevant land management.
