"For your personal career planning, I find it very helpful to take advantage of the diversity of Göttingen as a university location, to get to know fellow students from other faculties, to think outside the box and to cultivate the network that can be built up well during studies throughout one's life." Business graduates can be employed in all areas and departments of companies and organisations. The exact area depends, of course, on one's own personal interests and study focus. From purchasing to marketing and human resources to IT and controlling. They keep an eye on company figures, lead teams or work in consulting. Examples of specific professions can also be found on the websites of our bachelor's and master's programmes. Our study programmes in the field of economics have a very international orientation. Our graduates therefore work in national and international companies, but also in international organisations such as the European Union. There are also opportunities in research institutes, ministries, in the field of political consulting or in organisations with a focus on development aid or cooperation with developing countries. Other possible employers include banks, insurance companies, public authorities and associations as well as consulting firms. Examples of specific professions can also be found on the websites of our bachelor's and master's programmes. The jobs of graduates in business information systems include activities carried out by computer specialists and systems analysts. They usually work at the interface of business administration departments and the IT department in companies and organisations and are experts who have excellent knowledge of the business problem and are able to develop IT solutions for it. Other tasks include planning, documenting and introducing hardware and software and assessing the effects on the respective type of organisation. Examples of specific professions can also be found on the websites of the bachelor's and master's programme. Business educators work in various settings, primarily vocational schools, but also companies and further education institutions. Demand for qualified vocational education specialists remains stable, particularly given demographic changes and the shortage of skilled labour in Germany. Traditionally, the Business and Human Resource Education degree programme primarily prepares students for a future career as a teacher at commercial vocational schools. In Germany, after graduating with a bachelor's degree, you must complete a postgraduate master's programme to enter the teaching preparatory service ("Referendariat") at commercial vocational schools. This interdisciplinary degree programme enables you to develop hybrid skills, combining your specialist knowledge with interdisciplinary abilities. Business educators who possess both business expertise and pedagogical skills can work in educational institutions, as well as in corporate areas such as personnel development and change management. Digitalisation and technological progress are opening up new professional fields for business education graduates. As well as traditional roles in education, opportunities exist in areas such as e-learning and education management, or as a consultant for digital transformation. Examples of specific professions can also be found on the websites of the bachelor's and master's programme. Statisticians are needed in any industry where decision-making is based on complex data analysis. Possible career fields are for example: Examples of specific professions can also be found on the master's programme website. The professional opportunities for our graduates are wide-ranging. These include activities in publishing houses, archives and museums of companies as well as private or public institutions. Furthermore, it is possible to enter the professional fields of foundation management, business journalism, university management, public relations, management consultancy or marketing. In addition to the subject-specific qualification, the degree programme imparts important general competences such as: The practical relevance of the master’s programme is established through internships and project work, which are offered in cooperation with companies, museums, foundations and scientific research institutions and thus directly prepare students for their future careers.
