I am a forest scientist working at the interface of forest ecology, structural complexity, and laser-based remote sensing. My research focuses on understanding how mountain forest structure develops, how environmental factors shape it, how it relates to biomass and ecosystem functioning and how it can be quantified using terrestrial and spaceborne LiDAR technologies.
I am particularly interested in forest structural heterogeneity, vertical stratification, canopy architecture and their implications for carbon storage, resilience and silviculture. I work extensively with 3D point cloud analysis, LiDAR-derived structural indices and quantitative forest ecology. My broader goal is to advance structure-based forest monitoring approaches that support sustainable forest management and climate change mitigation.
