Academic requirements

You need a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or higher education institution. Your degree programme must last at least three years and cover agricultural sciences or a related subject.

Your studies must include at least 60 ECTS credits in agricultural sciences. These credits can come from one or more agricultural subjects, including:

  • Plant sciences
  • Animal sciences
  • Soil sciences
  • Resource management
  • Agricultural economics

APS certification: If you obtained your bachelor’s degree in China, Vietnam or India, you must submit APS-certified degree certificates and transcripts of records.

For language requirements, documents and deadlines, please see our application page.

My university does not use ECTS. How can I compare my credits?

ECTS is the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. A three-year European bachelor’s degree usually totals 180 ECTS credits. The required 60 ECTS in agricultural sciences therefore represent about one third of a three-year degree programme.

You can use this as a rough guide when reviewing your courses and credits. We will assess how your credits compare with ECTS when we review your application.

Can I apply before I finish my bachelor’s degree?

Applicants from outside the EU/EEA

You must have completed your bachelor’s degree by the application deadline.

Applicants from the EU/EEA

Can I have my documents checked before I apply?

We can only check whether you meet the requirements after you submit your application. We cannot review your documents in advance. Please use the information above to check whether your previous studies match the academic requirements.
