Internationale Transfer und Alumni Projekte
Strengthening international relations
We implement and execute collaborative research projects in the research areas of our members, covering both basic and applied research. CBL draws on advanced theoretical and application-oriented knowledge among its members and partners, from such diverse fields as agriculture, forestry and agroforestry, development economics, ecology, biodiversity, landscape ecology, geography, nature conservation, hydrogeology and related social sciences, for the promotion of research and for capacity building to globally support sustainable food production and resource management, in the face of global change, climate change and food insecurity.Current Projects
TRANSMIT TRANSMIT develops and tests cross-border approaches for sustainable forest management in the Himalayas to strengthen climate resilience and reduce disaster risks. The University of Göttingen cooperates with partner institutions in Germany, Nepal, and India to create practice-oriented strategies for improved forest and fire management.Former Projects
The CBL organizes alumni projects almost every year and is a regular partner in EU-Erasmus+ projects. The individual projects can be selected on the right.
DAAD Alumni Programme Mexico
In August 2024 and March 2025, alumni seminars were conducted in Mexico, focusing on agroforestry systems and the conservation of biodiversity. An accompanying virtual series of events will provide the network of (young) scientists and practitioners with additional training and opportunities for exchange.
September 2019: - International DAAD Alumniseminar and Tropentag 2019
We worked with international partner institutions in the Global South, currently with a focus on South East Asia (1) to coordinate or participate in projects on the internationalization of curricula of Master Programs in centre-related topics and (2) to support staff and student exchange.
The Alumni work of the CBL focuses its activities on development-related issues, with major areas of interest in research and education in
- sustainable agriculture and forestry
- biodiversity and tropical ecology
- forest, soil and water management
- science management and communication
To increase networking and cooperation in research and education with other development- related domains in Göttingen and research institutes worldwide, embedded in research networks of global importance, is the explicit goal of the centre.
