Prof. Dr. Jens Tetens

Jens_300dpiProfessor Tetens studied veterinary medicine at the Hannover University of Veterinary Medicine from 1999 to 2005, where he also wrote his doctoral thesis and received his doctorate in 2006. After a short postdoc period in Hannover and a stay abroad in Switzerland, he went to the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel in 2007, where he headed the molecular genetics laboratory of the Institute of Animal Breeding and Husbandry for 10 years and completed his habilitation in 2015 with the thesis Recent advances in cattle genomics and beyond. The underlying work was awarded the H. Wilhelm Schaumann Foundation's award in 2013.
