Mr. Knoblich studied from 1952 to 1956 Economic Sciences at the University Erlangen-Nürnberg and completed his studies with the degree of Diplom-Kaufmann. His doctoral thesis, finished in 1961, dealt with "The world copper market".


He habilitated in 1968 at the Faculty of Business Administration with his treatise "Business typology of goods". From 1970 to 1996, Mr. Knoblich was professor at the Chair of Business Administration at the University of Göttingen and Director of the Department of Marketing and Retailing. In addition, he served as Chairman of the managing committee of the student union from 1974 until his retirement on 01.04.1996.
