Objective: How can you turn an idea into a viable business while still studying? In this interactive online guest lecture, Laura Apel explores why university can be an ideal time to start a business and what it takes to build a side business alongside your studies.

From developing an initial idea and turning it into a concrete offer to managing time, energy and priorities, participants will gain practical tools and insights they can apply immediately. The session also addresses common myths and mindset barriers, as well as important first steps – including prioritisation and the key bureaucratic considerations when becoming self-employed.

Laura Apel brings more than ten years of experience in the fashion industry, startup experience and professional training in systemic coaching. Today, she works as a coach and mentor, supporting women in building successful businesses alongside their full-time careers. She is also a freelance co-lecturer at the INeKO Institute of the University of Cologne and regularly teaches as a guest lecturer at universities in Germany and abroad.

The lecture concludes with an open Q&A session, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and discuss their own ideas and challenges.
