21.01.2026, 17:00 – 18:00 (hybrid) „Winter Walking – Künstlerinnentalk mit Dr. Rachel Buller“ (WeAreOne)German: https://www.forum-wissen.de/event/kuenstlerinnentalk-winter-walking/
Most people can hear with their ears, but have you ever tried hearing with your feet? There is so much to tune into when walking: from other people to your own thoughts, from the sounds of the landscape to the lives of other species.
What could it mean to hear beyond our ears, and why would we want to? Drawing on the history of deep listening, feminist and indigenous listening, and the slow movement, Rachel Buller proposes ways in which listening can be practiced through artistic practices with our whole bodies as a means of building relationships that are desperately needed in times of overlapping crises. A comprehensive understanding of listening with our hands and feet, our gestures and movements, as exemplified by a number of contemporary artists and explored in their own artistic and exploratory investigations, enables us to become more attuned to our human and superhuman fellow human beings.
The project WeAreOne will present the work, place it in relation to the intervention 1+1=3, and raise questions as to why the combination of art and science can open up new paths and perspectives. Think anew about coexistence, protection, the use of, and the boundaries between humans and nature!
14.01.2026, 17:00 - 18:00, "The Love of Art, Nature and Animals – Artist Talk with Misty Ring" | Understanding life in the Anthropocene (WeAreOne)
German: https://www.forum-wissen.de/event/misty-ring/
The project WeAreOne will present Misty Ring's work, place it in relation to the intervention 1+1=3, and raise questions as to why the combination of art and science can open up new paths and perspectives. The artist will be connected digitally. Think anew about coexistence, protection, the use of, and the boundaries between humans and nature!
Misty's journey has always been closely linked to her love of art, animals and nature, which have shaped her life. Born in the heart of British Columbia's rugged interior, she was surrounded by towering peaks, tranquil lakes, and meandering rivers that have deeply shaped her creative spirit. When she moved to Alberta in 2006, she discovered a new muse in the vast, expansive prairies, whose dramatic beauty captured her heart and inspired much of her future work.
Her connection to nature was not limited to the landscape. As a child, Misty experienced a magical moment when she unofficially volunteered at Kamloops Wildlife Park – a memory that remains vivid in her mind to this day. One of the highlights was the day she helped a zoologist bottle-feed an orphaned white-tailed deer calf – a moment that sparked her passion for wildlife and conservation. This love for animals and nature has since become a driving force in her life and art.

German: https://www.forum-wissen.de/event/performance-workshop-gespraech/
The event "Body Knowledge" with Noé Valdes Vega (dancer, choreographer, dance teacher, WeAreOne), Anna-Luise Weßling (Participatory Exhibition and Mediation Formats Museum Friedland), and Nina de la Chevallerie (project manager & director boat people project e.V.) focuses on the interface between movement, body awareness and social interaction in the Anthropocene era. The phenomenon presented here is the embodied experience of movement as a means of connection and social interaction.
After an impressive performance by choreographer Noé Valdes-Vega, visitors can participate and converse.
• Join an exercise that explores the relationship between the body and its environment.
• Take part in a series of interactive games and exercises aimed at deepening our connection to our bodies and to each other.
• Participate and experience first-hand how our body awareness can shape our relationships with others and the world around us.
• After the performance and exercises, talk to the presenters and exchange experiences with each other.

10.12.2025, 17:00 - 18:00 „KUSHTI BOK – Künstlertalk mit David Weiss“ | Das Leben im Anthropozän verstehen (WeAreOne)
German https://www.forum-wissen.de/event/kuenstlertalk/
WeAreOne, presents the work of David Weiss. "Kushti Bok" is a greeting of the English Romani travellers and means "good hunger" in Anglo-Romani – also in a figurative sense. The artist David Weiss uses this expression because it fits well with his open curiosity for different cultures and his own "hunger for life". Especially in dark times, this greeting contains a desire for optimism and the hope that this hunger for life can be satisfied. His installation "Planet A", which was created as part of the intervention 1+1=3? , it becomes clear how art and science together show the tensions that arise when nature is to be protected or restored – visible, for example, in the debate about the return of the wolf.
At the center of the installation is a globe made of sheep's wool and copper. Both materials refer to early connections between humans and nature – animal husbandry and metal use – and thus to questions of responsibility in the Anthropocene. In addition, there are overpainted woodcuts of sheep and wolves: the sheep as a symbol for domesticated farm animals, the wolf as a returnee "on the map". This is where the conflict between agriculture, nature conservation and predators becomes particularly tangible. The installation thus sheds light on central topics of today's environmental policy and invites us to think anew about coexistence, protection, use and the boundaries between humans and nature.
