Prof. Dr. Achim Spiller
is Professor of Marketing for Food and Agricultural Products at the University of Göttingen.From 2006 to 2026, he served as a member—and from 2020 to 2026 as Chair—of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture’s Scientific Advisory Board on Agricultural Policy, Food, and Consumer Health Protection (BMLEH).
He was a member and Co-Chair of the Commission on the Future of Agriculture (Zukunftskommission Landwirtschaft, ZKL) and served on the BMLEH Competence Network on Livestock Husbandry (“Borchert Commission”).
Achim Spiller has been repeatedly listed among Germany’s 100 leading economists in the FAZ economists’ ranking and was named by Agrifood.Table (2024) as one of the ten most influential scholars in agricultural and food sciences.
He served as Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Göttingen from 2011 to 2015 and has again held this position since 2025.
