Chair of International Economic Policy
ANNA GASTEN
Anna Gasten is a doctoral student at the chair of International Economic Policy under supervision of Prof. Dr. Kis-Katos. Her research examines the causes and consequences of migration and forced displacement, with a focus on how refugee and migrant inflows affect host communities in low- and middle-income countries. By combining quasi-experimental approaches with behavioral economic experiments—and working closely with organizations such as the World Bank and UNHCR—her work generates insights that inform both academic debates and may support the design of more effective, sustainable integration policies.
Anna was part of the DFG-funded Research Training Group "Globalization and Development (RTG 1723)" and is member of the data collection and management team of the DFG-funded long-term project "Poverty dynamics and sustainable development: Thailand Vietnam Socio Economic Panel (TVSEP)".
