Kayanat Iltaf
Kayanat joined the Chair of Development Economics at Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) as a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow from October 2024 until September 2025. Her research largely concentrates on inequality, with a supplementary focus on environmental sustainability and distributive justice. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to addressing the root causes of global inequality and environmental challenges across diverse contexts.Kayanat holds an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Global Development Policy and Economics from Palacký University (Czech Republic), the University of Clermont Auvergne (France), and the University of Pavia (Italy). She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Economics from Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan. She has previously collaborated with Prof. Dr. Sebastian Vollmer for her master's thesis research on the "Impact of Flood-Triggering Rainfall on Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes in Pakistan." Her research interests encompass sustainable development, climate advocacy, health economics, and global inequity.
Kayanat is pursuing her PhD at the University of Oxford since October 2025.
