Which English certificates should I provide for admission to the Master programs?
Applicants whose first language is not English must have a very good command of English. Very good English skills must be demonstrated by standardized or accredited certificates at least at level C1 or higher according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The following are particularly suitable as proof:
a) UNIcert®: minimum UNIcert® III certificate;
b) International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): minimum band score of 7.0;
c) Test of English as a Foreign Language, internet-based test (TOEFL iBT): minimum score of 100 or minimum score of 95 and minimum speaking score of 25;
d) Cambridge English Qualification, minimum 180 points;
e) KMK foreign language certificates, minimum level C1;
f) Nulte certificates, minimum level C1;
g) PTE Academic, minimum 76 points;
h) TELC English, minimum level C1;
i) Other accredited or standardized certificates may also be recognized after examination of their equivalence.
The test (a-i) must have been passed no more than six years prior to the date of receipt of the application for admission. Proof of very good knowledge of the English language may also be provided by
a) at least two years of relevant study or professional experience in an English-speaking country within the last six years prior to the date of receipt of the application for admission, or
b) by the successful completion of at least two years of study in an English-language degree program.
